Derek Wilson is currently working as a Food Access Coordinator at Mecklenburg County Public Health. He has a Master of Public Health from UNC Charlotte and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Appalachian State University. He is also a Certified Health Education Specialist who uses his skills to help people build happier and healthier lives. Derek has experience in programming: educating children, adolescents, and adults on building joyful sustainable lifestyles. He also has experience beyond programming to create policy, systems, and environmental changes to create long-lasting effects where people, live, work and play. Derek’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion drives his love of learning and new opportunities to grow to the next level. He believes in making healthy choices easier, so everyone’s well-being is fulfilled.
