Katherine Gonzalez
Katherine Gonzalez is a second-year Master of Public Health student at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, where she centers her efforts on social determinants of health to ensure families can access safe, healthy foods and the resources they need to thrive. At the UNC Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, she is involved in intervention research aimed at reducing chronic disease risk through improved nutrition and diabetes self-management strategies. Katherine looks forward to helping expand FOODiversity’s reach and impact in under-resourced communities with food allergies, celiac disease, and food intolerances. In her free time, she enjoys reading, exploring hiking trails, and trying new recipes.
