Marcus Thomas
Marcus Thomas is a native of Spartanburg, South Carolina. He currently serves as Program Officer for Community Impact at the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro. In his role, Marcus manages the Foundation’s grant portfolio of activities in various fields of community impact such as housing, education, and workforce initiatives. Additionally, Marcus gives oversight and leadership to the foundation’s Teen Grantmaking Council and the Building Stronger Neighborhoods program.
With education being a strong foundation for Marcus’ success, he is a graduate of North Georgia University where he studied Business Administration, concentrating in Finance. Marcus is currently enrolled as a graduate student at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In 2024, Marcus will graduate with a Master’s in Public Affairs, concentrating in Nonprofit Management.
Marcus’ desire is to make Greensboro a better place for his wife, Vakaya, their daughter, Hannah Grace, and all residents and visitors.
