Samara Gibson

Samara is passionate about making a difference in the Public Health landscape. On the cusp of completing her MPH with a specialization in Physical Activity and Nutrition (UNC-Charlotte, May ’24), Samara’s curiosity lies in addressing food insecurity within rural communities.

Samara is actively contributing as a graduate assistant at the Jamil Niner Student Pantry, driving innovative healthy pantry initiatives and knowledge dissemination to shoppers. She is also engaged in a transformative shadowing experience under the guidance of a seasoned registered dietitian, charting her course post-graduation.

With a penchant for crafting nutritionally beneficial recipes, Samara is dedicated to nurturing body and health.

In the role of Program Coordinator at FOODiversity, Samara is eager to collaborate with community partners with a twofold goal: 1) to increase awareness, and 2) to make significant strides in bridging the resource gap associated with food allergies, celiac disease and food intolerances and their raising the burden of food insecurity.
